SB 457 -- MISSOURI JUDICIAL CONFERENCE

SPONSOR:  Caskey (Byrd)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Judiciary by a vote of 18 to 0.

This bill amends the process for filling the vacancy of any
unexpired term on the executive council of the judicial
conference.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that this will allow the judicial
conference to avoid vacancies on the council and operate more
effectively.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Caskey; Missouri Judicial
Conference; and Associate Circuit Judges Association.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
